Wicked: Witch & Curse by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie

I participated in a 72 hour readathon hosted by some wonderful ladies I met thanks to bookstagram! I wasn't able to participate in the full 72 hours since I had to photograph a session and do a whatnot auction for one of those days, but I still wanted to participate anyways.

This isn't the first readathon that I've joined, so I knew what to expect this time around. Since this readathon was over a Friday the 13h in October, I wanted to choose books with a Halloween vibe to match the season. The hosts put together a fun Bingo board for us to fill out, which made choosing the books and participating even more fun!

I started reading Wicked: Witch & Curse during this readathon.

This is actually two books in one. Here is what the book is all about.

"Holly Cathers's world shatters when her parents are killed in a terrible accident. Wrenched from her home in San Francisco, she is sent to Seattle to live with her relatives, Aunt Marie-Claire and her twin cousins, Amanda and Nicole.

In her new home, Holly's sorrow and grief soon give way to bewilderment at the strange incidents going on around her. Such as how any wish she whispers to her cat seems to come true. Or the way a friend is injured after a freak attack from a vicious falcon. And there's the undeniable, magnetic attraction to a boy Holly barely knows.

Holly, Amanda, and Nicole are about to be launced into a dark legacy of witches, secrets, and alliances, where ancient magics yield dangerous results. The girls will assume their roles in an intergenerational feud beyond their wildest imaginations...and in doing so, will attempt to fulfill their shared destiny.."

Wicked: Witch & Curse Book Review

I gave this book overall 3 out of 5 stars. This is the review I left on Goodreads, Instagram, and Amazon. (To see how I gage my star and pepper ratings, you can check out my past blog) https://alisonshanereads.wixsite.com/alisonshanereads/post/how-i-rate-review

Because this book is actually two books in one, I reviewed each story separately.

Wicked: Witch

4 out of 5 Stars

"I actually really liked this story. It was hard to follow at times going between current times and the past. It's giving me Charmed vibes and I loved that show. Forbidden love (like Romeo and Juliet) and messes with Dark Magic, which actually gave me the creeps at times."

Wicked: Curse

3 out of 5 Stars

"I didn't like this one as much as the first, but still a good continuation to the story. There's so many characters to keep up with and the back and forth between the times was a little better as it was labeled so."

Please remember that these reviews are based off of my own opinions and my preferences. I always encourage you to read a book for yourself to make your own review. What I might not like, you might love and vis versa.

Here are some of the fun pictures I took for the bingo board.

Be sure to follow the hosts on Instagram so you can see when they make the annoucement to join!

Thanks for Reading!
